brown butter chocolate chip toffee cookies
Dessertsingredients:
• 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 tablespoon vanilla
• 2 eggs
• 2 1/2 cups + 2 tablespoons flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 3/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup toffee bits
directions:
1. brown the butter. cut the butter into small pieces for even melting. swirl in pan over medium heat. will get bubbly, then foamy. once golden brown, remove from heat and transfer to bowl to cool.
2. - use spatula to scrape butter across the bottom of the pan to prevent burning.
3. Add butter, sugars, and vanilla to electric mixer. beat on medium high speed for 2-3 min.
4. Add eggs and beat for 1-2 min until shiny and smooth.
5. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix just until combined into a dense, shiny dough. let cool 15-20 min.
6. mix in chocolate chips and toffee bits.
7. preheat oven to 350. Roll dough into 3 tablespoon balls and place on baking sheet.
8. cook for 9 minutes or until edges look cooked but middles are still soft and puffy.
